Default replacing bullet turn light

Can someone tell me how to remove the turn signal off an 05 1200c? in some detail if you could. A pm would be fine if it is lenghty.
thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the whole turn signal or the lens.

Sure - front or back?
Front - there's a small allen set screw that holds the ball end fitting of the turn signal. The allen screw is inside a small hole you can see when looking head-on to the bike...
Rear - there's a nut to loosen under the fender directly opposite the signal that holds the mounting stalk...
Let me know, and I can PM you back with as much detail as you want (I have the service manual, plus I've relocated both front and rear turn signals on my '05)...

If it's the lens, there's a small notch right at the interface between the lens and the housing. Use a coin or a flat blade screw driver to pry the lens off (it comes off relatively easy)...

Well, there's a nut to unscrew directly opposite the turn signal stalk. The nut's hard to get to, and unless you have really small hands you might need to remove the shocks to be able to drop the rear tire (while on a bike lift - doh!) so you can more easily get to it. Once you loosen the nut, you'll see that the stalk is separate from the bullet signal housing (the assembly will loosely come apart). The wiring for the rear signal runs under the fender from the tail light stalk under a couple of holding clips that keep the wires away from the tire to the back of the rear tail light and plugs into a module there. You remove the rear light cover (2 phillips screws, if I remember) to be able to unplug the rear turn signal wires. Then you can remove the whole real turn signal assembly. If you need more detail, let me know and tonight I can quote from the manual (all this is from memory)...

EDIT: Oops, there might actually be two nuts under the fender holding the stalk on now that I think about it - I'll check tonight to make sure...

I was able to remove the one nut inside the fender that I could see to remove the assembly but it wont budge. the assembly loosens slightly but wont come off the bike. The harness is free so it does'nt catch...but no luck coming off. I can't find another nut..there is a small clip that the harness goes behind right next to the nut but it looks riveted to the fender, and not part of the light assembly. What am Im doing wrong?

You have to remove the fender strut housing covers.

The nut inside the fender joins the fender, strut, and strut cover together. But the stud (threaded piece that nut was on) holds the signal housing on the strut cover. The stud is threaded on both ends with a nut in the center. It looks something like this:

(Turn signal housing) -----------[]------ (Inside of fender)

The [] is a nut that holds things together. Think it's 1/2". Need a deep socket to get it off. Anyway, once you pull the fender strut cover you'll see what I mean. Loosen that and the housing comes free; just need to fish the wiring through the hole and you're done.

Ref page 7-39 and fig 7-45 of the manual for details.
