Default V & H shortshots for 08 nightster?

This is my first time posting, so hello all!
Ok, I have an 08 nightster that I am trying to black out. I would like to get a set of black V&amp\\;H staggered shortshots, but it's not absolute. I really want to make the bike alot louder and increase the performance. I don't have much experience, so I don't know much about the different pipes, etc. I have been researching, but I don't think the internet videos do the sound justice. If you guys could share suggestions, experiences, before and after vids, pics, or whatever, it will be much appreciated. Thanks much. I'll be posting again.

Thats sounds cool. Also, the engine on your bike looks sweet. Ive seen black&nbsp\\;cover parts on ebay and stuff, but it seems like the main part of my engine will still be grey, even after putting the covers on. Was yours like that when you got it, or was&nbsp\\;it already black. I mean the main part.

The Roadster's engine comes black stock...as far as pipes I'd find a set you really like, style wise.&nbsp\\; You can always have the heat shields or pipes coated black, ceramic or jet hot coating work great.&nbsp\\; Mine&nbsp\\;were ceramic coated by Cradin industries www.cradin.com&nbsp\\;.&nbsp\\; I paid $175 for the coating, but $100 of the cost was for the flames.&nbsp\\; For normal coating it's $1.25 per inch of pipe

Jalopy, I love the look of your staggered short shots - totally awesome IMHO.&nbsp\\; I'm thinking of puting a set on my '08 1200 Low.&nbsp\\; Do you still like yours, or are they too loud?

The SS are nice pipes but have a loud tinning sound. Don't get me wrong I love my SS but wanted something with a little lower rumble and a bit better performance. I did some work to a set of Vance and Hines double barrels. I am having them ceramic coated by cradin industries and got the sound to a loud low rumble by playing with the baffles. IMO the performance is much better than the SS.

Good luck with the bike.

For best performance get a two into one.

I love mine and they are not too loud for me. They are very loud though when you get on it. It is really a matter of preference for the loudness, but I think they are about perfect.

did you have to retune Jalopy?&nbsp\\; HD says I have to have the ECM reprogrammed, but I have my doubts....
