Default Engine Cases

Is it me or are the engine cases (the castings) really poor on the sportsters? Granted moslty on the bottom and unseen part of the cases but ugly. I know its from the factory becuase its covered in black wrinkle paint no craks or leaks just poor castings. The dealer told me thats normal becuase their sand casted. I guess I am picky just wondering if anyone noticed? DL[:'(]

Yeah, I see it too. The later model cases seem to be better. We polish engine cases and have seen some that had large casting marks.

The way I see it, you just have to lean it over a little further in the twisties and you'll have it all polished up in no time!
