People should just admit they LIKE the loud pipes and drop the whole charade of trying to justify it with other reasons.

 

They don't end lives, atlhough some seem to think so. I have had a few close calls that required a quick blast of the pipes to wake up the dumbass cager attempting to run me over.

 

i have loud pipes cuz i like to annoy the **** outta people, and i love the sound.....but they have saved my *** before.

 

If you mean loud, as in an obnoxious plaid, I would say, "yes."&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

 

One reason&nbsp\\;i got louder pipes was so i could hear the engine when riding above 40 mph. Since the sportster does not come with a tach i could not tell what RPM&nbsp\\;my bike was running. But i will side with the load pipe gurus. those stock pipes sucked!

 

I've been riding in a car and not heard a bike, not because it wasn't loud but today's cars are so better insulated to lessen road noise that it makes anything harder to hear.&nbsp\\; I've got my Samson's and they're loud as hell but I don't count on them to make a driver see me.&nbsp\\; I make sure I'm never in the same spot for very long moving from one side of the lane to&nbsp\\;another and never riding in a blind spot.&nbsp\\;

 

yes to loud pipes and no to loud prospects.
