See my full thread on PETTY and JUVENILE (and even THAT is not my full comment - but the site isn't accepting long posts at the moment!

One reason \\;i got louder pipes was so i could hear the engine when riding above 40 mph. Since the sportster does not come with a tach i could not tell what RPM \\;my bike was running. But i will side with the load pipe gurus. those stock pipes sucked!

I've been riding in a car and not heard a bike, not because it wasn't loud but today's cars are so better insulated to lessen road noise that it makes anything harder to hear. \\; I've got my Samson's and they're loud as hell but I don't count on them to make a driver see me. \\; I make sure I'm never in the same spot for very long moving from one side of the lane to \\;another and never riding in a blind spot. \\;
