Default How tall is too tall on a Nightster

Ok here goes....I had to sell my '06 Wide Glide last spring because of some un seen financial troubles(Damn IRS). Now finally I am ready to buy again. I was approved for a Left over '07 Wide Glide, but the payments are a little steep. I do like the looks of the Nightster, and I know the 1200s perform very well. I am near 6'3" and a touch over 200lb. I am wondering if I put forwards on it and a set of mini apes, would the bike be comfortable for me ? Are any of you Nightster owners as tall as me ? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

im 6-4 200lbs and ride a 1200C.&nbsp\\;I rolled the bars forward a bit to stretch my arms out. No comfort issues here with forward controls and a kuryakyn cruise bar to stretch out.

Personally I am about 5'10" and 180... But I have sold Nightsters to some taller guys...

IMO the Nightster is one of the coolest scoots on the road... It is definitely one of the most enjoyable to ride... It is also the lightest of any of the Sportster models

However... It is certainly not the most comfortable bike (e.g. you will feel the road more than on a bigger bike)... But just how comfortable do you need to be?&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;Forward controls will make the riding position reasonable for you

My advice to you is to take one for a test ride and see what you think

You're going to want forwards. I'm 5'10 and I got pretty cramped up on a 280 miler this past weekend. At the very least consider some highway pegs. I ended up sitting on the back part of the seat and on the fender part of the time just to streatch out. I love the mids, but it's a little tight for me, so I will be putting on some highway pegs here shortly.....&nbsp\\;

I hate to be the honest bastard, but you aren't gonna like the nightster unless you just want something to pose on.

I'm 5'9". I put miles on my Nightster. My average is 100 a day. The bike just aint comfortable at all.

Lets talk dollars. You can get a better-fitting bike for cheaper and you wont be going back to the dealer to get new goodies. $289 for forward controls. Someone on here has a kit to stretch those another 3 inches (you'll prolly need em) now you're into it another two bills. I hope you&nbsp\\;installed&nbsp\\;em&nbsp\\;yourself and only paid $500 (for pegs yo! for pegs!).

Don't forget the suck-seat. That'll cost you a coupla hundred.

Have you factored in "paying your taxes"? Thats another easy grand.

Seriously, shop around. Do your homework. Make a wise purchase.

I'm 6-01 and while I ride my girlfriend's Nightster on occasion cuz its fun, it still feels like a minibike compared to my Street Bob.&nbsp\\; It would be better (and probably tolerable) with extended forwards and apes.

Thanks for the honesty guys.&nbsp\\; The reason I was even looking at the Nightster was because of the cool factor, and the price.&nbsp\\; I like Sportys but with a 36" inseam they just leave me feeling cramped.&nbsp\\; I guess I all ready made my mind up....Pony up the taxes, and tags and buy the bike I really want and be done with it.&nbsp\\; I'll post pics as soon as I can.&nbsp\\; But the bike in my sig, is nearly identical to the bike I want to buy.

I'd have probably gone with a Street Bob if I could justify the extra cost.&nbsp\\; But the Nightster is fun and cool and I don't ride that often nor for very long so it's cool, I like it.

I'm a hair under 6'2" and fit just fine with normal mid controls.&nbsp\\; It is true it's not the most comfortable ride but it's definately not bad.
