And to make the day just a little sweeter, a mistaken sportbike rider was taught to appreciate the 1200N's ability to GO when the light turns green

RE: F&*% those rocket riders
The same thing happened at the MSF course that I took. There were a mix of brand new never been on a bike students and a few guys who already had bikes and knew how to ride. One of the guys road a Suzuki Gixxer 600 daily. It was a very nice bike. He talked many times about triple digit driving with his friends.
It was mandatory on our MSF course that you use the provided bikes. They were mainly Rebel, INtruder and Virago 250's.
Anyway... on the last road test we had to go around a turn that was lined by cones. The instructions were to brake before entering the turn (an instructor was watching for the brake light) and smoothly make the turn without hitting the cones or crossing the lines.
We were taught many times that you never lay on your rear brake on a turn because the back end will kick out. Well... this crotch rocket triple digit road racer entered the turn too quick and hit the rear brake and the bike slid out from under him and he dropped it. Luckily he didn't get hurt. He did fail the MSF course though. Man was he ticked. Especially since some of the brand new newbie riders passed. I was driving a Ninja 250R at the time (my first bike) and he snickered many times about how my bike was barely a moped. Well.. I passed the course with flying colors and sold my Ninja a month later and bought a Harley.

RE: F&*% those rocket riders
"As I have said before, I regularly take 600 rice rockets off the line... But only for a very short distance...Torque is your friend..."
NO WAY.... unless your rider is a 10 year old child on the rocket the gearing is made to take off the line... that is why people want 600's on small tracks. The 600 motor will allowfor it to wind very fast and drop very fast... in fact a 600 will actually beat a bigger bike like a 750 or 1000 off the line... i have been working on these bikes for years and would put my bike and all the bikes I own on it.... i have a GSXR 600 my girl rides, she will DOMINATE any sporty, DYNA, Sloptail, bagger... they are just fast bikes... that is how they are made... (yes she also has her bobber with big ol apes and lately the rocket has been getting dusty) i have a GSXR750, geared, mapped, lowered, v stacks, full exhaust... and will tell you that bike is SICK fast... we have a 1200c sporty in the garage as well, stage 1 and SE slip ons, jetted.... fast yes... but faster than a 600 HELL no...
