Got new color matching side covers from H-D and they had a slot punched into the cover for the zip tie. Alsome...

AHH you see HD know Europeans wont put up with this crap.
My 2011 Nightsters battery cover is already pre-drilled at the top with a cable tie...

Escaping Sportster battery cover
I have just become a Sportster 1200 Custom owner. I found this thread very useful following a loose battery cover on the first ride! Thanks Schumacher for a simple solution, now in place.
