Default 08 Nightster Pricing (tax, prep, etc)

Hi guys. Been lurking for a few weeks now in prep for purchasing a Sportster of some flavor, ideally, a Nightster.
I talked with a sales rep and he said he can get me an 08 Black Nightster for 7,995, which he said would be out the door for 10,058.xx. Now, I think that's a pretty good deal considering the MSRP is 9,695. However, I'm just curious about the extra fees. 2 grand for tax, prep, delivery, etc etc. Does that sound right? And am I right thinking 10k OTD is a good deal for N. Florida??

Thanks for the advice and hopefully you'll be seeing me around a lot more

For $7995 on a 08 nighster, I would think this isa good deal already. And out-the-door price sounded just about right too... Perhaps you can ask another nearby stealership and see how much they charge for those extra fees.

out the door sounds about right. the base seems very low. delivery is a flat fee, dealer prep varies depending on dealer, taxes vary by state. I paid a bit more for mine but 10.5k sounds like a good price.

I have seen a few dealers like this. They will advertise $2000 under msrp!, but will then add back $1500-$2000 in BS fees...basicly a gimic. However, if you sales tax rate is 7% you are still about $300 or so under MSRP. Sounds like a good deal.

Take the deal. Anything under 11k sounds great to me. I just purchased an 08 Vivid Black Nightster for just under 12k OTD. I also live in Los Angeles and bikes here don't come cheap. We got California bullsh*t taxes, emmissions, and DEMAND. I've been looking for months trying to find a black one and couldnt find it. Some dealers quoted me as little as 11,300 OTD but would have to do a dealer trade. Well guess what, no dealer, if they DID have a black, wanted to trade for that price. Plus, now is a bad time to shop for a bike in SoCal...demand is too high for these damn nightsters. But thats because they're the best looking bike Harley makes, in my opinion.

I understand other states are much cheaper, but the deal you're getting bud sounds pretty good to me.Good Luck!!

JUST BUY IT AND RIDE IT!!

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and emailed a couple other dealers to see if they can beat it. Either way, I feel pretty good about a brand new Nightster for 10K OTD.

I agree, take the deal. My dealer is sold out of nightsters. They got in a used 2008 orange/black one on a trade..they sold it for $9,995 used the first weekend they had it.

Not the exact price he said at first, but only a couple hundred more.&lt\\;br&gt\\;&lt\\;br&gt\\;Looks like I’m the new owner of a black Nightster!&lt\\;br&gt\\;

Sounds like a good deal to me. I’m from boston and I’m pretty sure are prices are higher than down south but that still sounds good. I thin 7995 is b/s but with the &quot\\;fees&quot\\; it is still pretty fair.
