I'm thinking of wrapping or high temp painting the stock exhaust. Are there any unintended consequences I should be aware of? I like the sound of the stock pipes, I just don't care for the chrome look.

 

Only thing you'll change is the look....and if you don't like chrome, use scotchbrite pads on them before you wrap em.

 

Exhaust wrap is kind of fragile I did mine about a year and a half ago and it needs to be redone, it's torn in a couple of places.As long as you get a good quality high heat paint and do your prep work you should have no problems but you will have to re paint it every couple of years.I've been thinking of stripping mine and going with just paint this time because I don't want to drop another $50 on tape I'll need to replace in a year or two.Although I'm also thinking white exhaust tape would look cool on my Bob.
