Default Adhesive removal question

Purchased and installed my sissy bar this afternoon looks good. I removed the "reflectors" fom the fenders as instructed but couldn't get the adhesive off without scratching the paint.... any tips on getting that type of adhesive off painted surfaces easily without marring the finish??[:@]

If I don't have any liquid "adhesive remover" on hand.... I use WD-40... works pretty decent.... just have to be patient... apply some, rub adhesive off with your fingers, apply some more, rub some more... then, a little bit of wax and done.

You can also warm it up with a heat gun or hair dryer to soften it up... Then Goo-Gone it...

Motsenbockers Lift Off adhesive remover worked great for me. I found an old can of it in the garage I bought back in the mid 90s at Pep Boys and it worked like magic.

Use 3M part # 08984. You can get it at any auto paint store. Works great, turns the glue to gel so you can take a plastic spreader and get it right off.
