Default Wide glide or Mid glide triple tree

I am going to get a different triple tree, can't decide between wide glide and mid glide, if I go mid glide, it is only 1 1/2 in wider than stock, it may not be noticeable. The wide glide is almost 2 in wider compare to narrow glide. Has anyone tried Vulcan? Is that a good brand? Their prices are reasonable, I just worry about the chrome quality, you always get what you pay for, know what I mean? One last question, does anyone know if I can still use the factory steering head lock? Thanks Alex

Default RE: Wide glide or Mid glide triple tree

I voted for leaving it alone. This is just my personal opinion but I think a Sportster needs to look like a Sportster, narrow frontend and a peanut tank.A wide frontend on a Sporty just never looked right to me.Kinda makes it look like you'retrying to turn itinto something its not, like maybe you really wanted a Dyna.I think even springers on a Sporty should be narrow but then again thats just my opinion.
