Default Better headlight for nightster

The stock headlight bulb sucks. Has anyone replaced it with a sylvainia silverstar or equal and do you have the part number. I dont want to dump the money on the HID system.

Sure, you can replace it with a standard H4 Silverstar bulb. The Silverstar does draw more power and runs hotter than stock. Some people have had luck with them but I never got one to last more than about 2 months though, running on high beam full time. I've changed to the PIAA Extreme White H4 bulb which is very bright and draws the same power as the stock bulb. The PIAA's run around $45 on the net.

Default What kind of crapola is this with the PIAA H4?

"PIAA H4 Xtreme White Plus Motorcycle Headlight Bulb"

"PIAA replacement bulbs are a fast and easy way to improve your motorcycle's headlight output. Simply remove the stock bulb(s) in your headlight, driving lights, turn signals, brake lights, or tail lights, and plug in a PIAA."

Then they add this?

"Note
PIAA motorcycle lights are intended for use solely as auxiliary lighting. PIAA motorcycle lights are not intended to be used for headlight purposes, nor are they certified for headlight usage."
