Default switching to amsoil synthetic

Do i also need to drain the old HD oil from the crankcase? I dont think the old oil is synthetic. the owners manual does not give instructions for draining the crankcase,
any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advance,
Allen

Just drain and change the oil as you would at any interval. No problem mixing the synthetic with the left over dino. Good choice.

You should pick up a service manual. The owners manual isn't sufficient for doing your own work. The Harley manual is around $60 (less from some on-line dealers), or the Clymer manual for around $25.

just drain the oil and change out the filter and refill with the il of your choice. I had them fill my bike with syn3 at the 1K service, but im changing over to royal purple synthetic at 5K

Get this DVD and a service manual. If you can't get the service manual right away get the dvd.
