Default long wait for extended warranty authorization

I took my bike to the dealer as it was making some very ugly metal on metal noises in the rear jug. I have the extended warranty and the dealer has informed me that they have to get authorization from the extended warranty head office to open her up. It's been 3 days now, and they still haven't received the OK. I'm thinking that if the service departmentdon't get authorization from them, I'm going to get the contact number and call them myself to raise hell. This shouldn't be an issue! The mechanic listened to it with the stethescope and agrees there is a problem in there - most likely a flat cam lobe or the timing drive gear starting to go.

Anyone else have these issues?

Ice, how many miles do you have on the bike?

Just a hair under 11,500 miles and I had the 10,000 miles service and inspection done... Also, I need to make a correction to my earlier post. I had it in my head that there was a timing gear up top but there isn't. It's the rocker arm stays that Kendall says might be cracked. The factory 2 year expired on April 23.

Oh man sad to hear it, just when the weather is starting to get nice too. Hope they get you fixed up and back on the road soon.

Well, I've been riding it as a daily commuter and taking some nice weekend rides. I've managed to rack up almost 1,400 miles since the snow melted. I am just REALLY missing my baby - especially now that the rain has finally stopped! The dealer finally got approval for the tear down but I don't think I'll see it for this weekend. Don't forget that Heritage HD has the factory demo rides on Saturday.
