Duramax vs. HD Sportster MPG cost

RE: Duramax vs. HD Sportster MPG cost
I imagine there are a lot of husbands that are trying to convince their wives that now is a great time to buy a motorcycle by comparing the mileage numbers between truck and bike. A stock 883 will get 70 m.p.g. routinely. My stage 1 883 can still get 65. But the fun factor of a stage 1 bike is priceless. I average 60 because I ride more aggressively now. You're going to have a lot more fun on the 883 than sitting in that Diesel. Your stress of the workday will melt away.

Mr D Thanks for your service and congrads onyour retirement.
Adding a Sportster will really balance your stable. Relative to the fuel savings there is some merit to theat rationale but I think we all get a intrinsic benefit that is hard to quanitfy.
I run Dodge Ram cummins, only thing to remember is you have to run thetruck regularly for seals and batteries.
I would take the MSF course for sure. And check out the private party list (ie Craigs list etc.). There are some great machines being sold with no miles on them. That is where I got my 1200C.
