Default How do you polish the spokes?

Ok folks, help me out here please.

It irritates me to no end to have a shiney front rim and dull-azz spokes and hub. They aren't chrome plated so I tried plain soap and water, didn't work. I tried Stainless steel polish, didn't work.

What cleans these damn things?

Also, is it cheaper to have a shop rebuild the wheel with chrome plated spokes rather than buy a whole new wheel? I love spokes and want that wheel to be insane-blinding to anyone who looks at it.

I know tricks to cleaning chrome, stainless steel and evening Titanium, (I raced Ti frames a few years ago), but these spokes are ridiculous.[:@]

I use Lusterlace and lusterpad on most of the shiny stuff but got tired of the spokes and changed the wheel - no more spokes.

Put your polish on a shoestring and wrap it around the spoke and go back and forth.
