ORIGINAL: rob i

I think you need 93 for a 1200, not 91.
Not up here in the mountains.

Put some seafoam in your gas tank and run it, see if it helps.

This is my current observation, not sure how they are or could be related, anyway:
1) mylow fuel lightwill come upafter 60~65 miles after a full tank of gas.
2) when I top it off, it takes 2~2.2 gal of gas.
3) Issue went away immediately when I fill it up.
4) OnlyuseShell gas 91 octane, nothing else.

Actually, I'm getting 45~50 mpg, it is the idiot light that I think is not working properly. This light will just come up after 60~70 miles and it annoys the heck out of me, and the number varies from different nightster owners (i.e 70, 80, 90)... but HD tech told me everything is in working order and they can't fix it. go figure...

I had the same problem the other day. I put the PC III and Short Shots on, started getting the surging and stalling problem, put about 2.1 gallons in it and haven't had a problem since. The even wierder thing was that thetank went through 2.1 gallons in 32 miles with Power Commanders -01 MAP but I had no problem with stalling/surging this time. I then installed the zero MAP and have gone 40 miles or so and have only had about 2 inches drop from the tank. txoval and I have been talking about it offline for a little while since it is his PC III I bought and am using. The problem we are seeing is that he had none of the problems that I am having. Right now I have the -01 MAP back in, but with -5 across the board and it seems to running pretty good. I plan on picking up a Heavy Breather today and will see how his old MAP for that set up works, but I can not see how that would affect the surging at with only 2.1 gallons gone from a ruffly 3.3 gallon tank.
