Well, I have been using costco gasoline (87 octane) on my 4 banger and it runs great, but of course, it is an on and off thingy, and I do not see the differences compared to shell/chevron. That's where I decided to try costco (91 octane) after I have put 1500 miles on the bike.

As of now, I'm not sure if was bad gas, vent issue, or even the possibility of water... anyway, will keep everyone posted on this.

I think you need 93 for a 1200, not 91.

I definitely think you should lay of the costco gas.

Hey Rob, for the 08 1200xl, 91 is the recommended. And yea, the bike is not getting any more costco gas.

Got the bike back yesterday, according to the tech, it was a loose spark plug cap, and they said the problem is now gone and does not sputter anymore. Strange but oh well, I will ride and see the result within a week or so.

The issue happened again last night, darn it. It choked a few time when I begin to accelerate at a stop light making aleft turn. Because I started from a complete stop, I almost drop the bike because of this hesitation. AAARRRGGGGGHH. [:@] Immediately went into the gas station and sure enough, I have used 2.1 gal only and the idiot has came up at 60 miles of usage.

I really love my bike, but this is making me nutz!

The ignition module??? hmm... I wonder if they know something and they are not telling me...

Anywho, I vented a bit with the service guyover the phone about the bike was there just a week ago for the same issue. Errr.. I'm so tempted to 'order'them to pull everythingout and start fresh. Maybe I can ask for a vrod as a loaner bike this time.

dont take it to a harley dealership. they will overcharge and quarterback parts. i would use an indie shop that you trust. at first, my module seemed to check out fine so the dealership might not have thought that was the prob. also, check the coil. look at this post to check all the probs. https://www.hdforums.com/m_3258366/tm.htm

I have looked at that post, not sure if it is the same thing becuase this is an 08 and EFI system, regardless, I will make the suggestion to them and see what they say. I'm not too worry about them overcharging me as it is still under warranty.
