It's a good thing my neighbor has already pissed off the neighbors and they are now used to it....cuz here comes rolling thunder when I get home/wake up.

Not that I want to start with the neighbors, but they don't pay my bills so I actually ran the bike without baffels for a weekend, just to let them know how it could be

'Miss Scarlet' is a '93 model. As some may know, the older Sportsters need to be warmed up slowly to keep from blowing rocker box gaskets and/or base gaskets.

Guess what? I'VE DONE BOTH!! Had to learn the hard way.

Now I have a temp guage in my oil tank. I crank it up, and let it run till the guage gets up to 100 degrees F.

No more blown gaskets on the rockers or base!

My dealer told me to let it run about 2-3 minutes before riding. This will allow the cylinder expand and to avoid oil leaks.

Ahaaaaa. I had taken the oil temp gauge off the wish list cause it seemed frivolous. Now I have a reason to add it back.
