Default looking for recommendations re// alarm systems

I have to leave the bike outside at night and when I am at work. It's caused me a few nights when I jump out of bed to peer out the window because I hear sounds that don't fit in with the typical nocturnal noises. The Mrs. and I have decided to invest in a motorcycle alarm system. I looked on line at the MoCo system but you have to purchase damned near everything separate and the bill come up to over 4 bills.

Any recommendations on a premium aftermarket system?

What about a disc lock with an audible alarm built in?... That's what I use. They are relatively inexpensive and very effective. The only downside is remembering to remove the lock before you take off... or.... Ouch!

Just got one of these.

Best reviewed lock out there. A little spendy (around $170) but damn near impenetrable. They have cheaper ones too...

I know the feeling of waking up to strange sounds and want to check the bike, we have a lot of pre-tourist season thieving ... and now is that time.
I am going to check out the Zenas disk locks tomorrow. The first I heard of them was last week when I think it was cHarley posted a link to them. Sounds much better to me than an installed one that zaps my battery.

LOL... I got one of those stretchy orange "reminder" cables. Used to have a non-alarm disc lock and started off with it still on once. Not fun[&:] Was going slow and still in the friction zone when it hit the caliper... didn't bust anything but uh... it was a surprisingly quick stop...

Maybe get a smart siren with a pager as well. If the alarm is set off the pager will go off. In reality, if someone wants your bike, they will get it no matter what you have protecting it. It is a fact of motorcycle life. I agree more protection is better than less. If I were you I'd get a disc lock, a cable lock to lock it to something stationary, and an audible alarm with a pager. How much is your bike worth to you. Also keep the insurance paid up.

I have the H/D hands free system, got the siren, no pager,it works doesn't seem to sensative (false alarms), can be a pain if you want to move the bike and do't have the FOB.
