How old were the kids?
If old enough go ahead and send them to juvie....if too young get them a s**t load of community service instead. I'm sure a judge will be extremely happy to dish out a good handful of hours to them. Not cruel punishment but it'll teach them somethin'.

 

I agree, where the F$%K was the grandmother? It sounds like they were not very old. Definately needed to be within eye sight.
If I did something like that when I was a kid, my Dad would have made sure I never did it again! If you know what I mean! And I would have deserved it. That's the whole problem these days. NO DISCIPLINE!!!
As stated earlier, kids will be kids, but must be taught right from wrong and pay the price if they forget.

Yes it's true. In this day and age, too many parents think it is up to society to "manage" their children. It sucks, but many think that way.
It is a good thing you saw them do it, and evidently, the grandmother also saw it. It sounds as if they aren't contesting that their kids did the damage, and hopefully they will be able to pay for it in a timely manner. If not, you might end up getting $20 a week, or month, until it is paid off, and that would really suck!

Hopefully it will all work out, and you will end up with your bike the way you want it. You went about the situation admirably. KUDOs to you.

Wow, That sucks. I know with my sons, if they touch my bike without my permission, fingers get broke.It seems tome thatkids think that things should be given to them. What ever happened to working your *** off for what you had? Maybe some people would have a little more respect for what they did own? Or maybe respect other people's property. At least I can say I have worked my *** off just to keep my house, pay to feed my kids, and still be able to afford a harley. I do have bruises and blisters to prove it.
