I agree with TC. The factory manual is very detailed and worth the expense. I always go ahead and purchase a parts book for my bikes too so I know exactly what I'm looking for when I go to the dealer. If you have the part # it's easier to call around to find what you need.

Yup! I agree about the factory manual. What questions it doesn't answer are basically intuitive and figured out pretty easily. The exploded diagrams are worth a fortune sometimes, and the step-by-step instructions are fairly good. Order it from Chicago Harley or Surdykes and you'll save yourself 20% off the $48.00 MSRP.
