Ground clearance

RE: Ground clearance
Flea,
I have an 07 1200N that I have raised.. The stock shocks are 11", and I have gone up to 13.5" Progressive 440's.. Having a slammed look is not all that important to me, and I couldn't be happier with the way the bike stands and rides. The added turning lean angle is much more fun and confidence inspiring, no more dragging the jiffy stand....

RE: Ground clearance
The ground clearance of a Nightster is 3.9"... The ground clearance of a 1200C is 4.4" (not a very significant difference)....These specs are listed on the HD website...
My opinion is that the Nightster was designed to have that "slammed" look.... Changing that would be silly...
If you change your exhaust and go to forward controls, you will rarely drag parts...
But.... If more clearance is really important to you.... Maybe consider a different model?

RE: Ground clearance
THAT makes a little more sense...i wasn't thinking about it in those terms and I was just looking at some pics feeling kind of stumped, lol.
I still think I'm gonna hit the *** end with some lowering blocks until I swap my frame. I love low-riding bikes. Draggin **** is FUN!

Harley lists the Nightster ground clearance as 3.9". I don't know if that's reflecting the weight of a 180 lbs. rider, but I'm thinking it does. That would make the nightster around 5.5"-6" or so standing straight up with no rider.

edit:
No, I'm wrong! Taking a closer look at Table 2-2 in the manual and I see that there is no * next to "Road clearance" but there is one next to "Saddle hight". The * is for 180lb rider on seat. [:@]
