Default before hitting the (long) road???

Not long back, I had my 10K service. I know I need a new front tire (just got a new rear) ... but what else should I be looking at/taking care of before I cross 3 1/2 states on my scoot?
I am taking it in this week, and would like to have it made ready if possible.

I will be traveling quite a distance to get to the Grand Canyon and back, and I just want to hold down as many surprises as I can.
I will have a great tool kit, a tire pump/patch kit/rain gear .. all the easy things to think of ... any other hints?

Girl, if you've done the 10K service, and get the front rubber replaced, if needed. And it sounds like you've got the bases covered as far as rain gear...etc etc... You're GOOD TO GO!!!

Have a GREAT ride!

Rat ...aw come on.... do I hhhaaaavvvee to quit doing burnouts?

Thanks guys! I am just a tiny bit nervous about going that far on the bike.
Going to try to start the trip with in the next three weeks - looking at a scheldule to clear up first.
As I said in previous posts - I am good under the hood of the cage, but I am not in the least up to par on the bike, and there are alot of wide open places between here and there.

You've done the basics. Now all you need is your HOG card, cell phone and credit card for the unexpected. Just ride and enjoy!

another little tool you can carry is a CO2 adapter for the tires...cyclist use them all the time if they get a flat works great and much faster than a pump! Don't have to worry about bending over and sitting there pumping a way for a while!

Thanks everyone.

and I REALLY like the idea of the co2 converter! I didn't know such a thing existed.
I should have a couple of cartridges from my scuba vests ..if they take the same size.
Thanks for the heads up on that one!
