Sporty Cigarette Lighter

I thought some of you (smokers) would enjoy and appreciate the latest mod. I just finished on the bike. It cost less than $25 in parts from HD and another $20 for misc. parts from the local auto parts store. It works great when riding the open road and is even handy around town when not in traffic.

I ordered an ignition switch housing and coil bracket from HD. I then had to have a mounting tab, similar to the one on the right side of the stock coil bracket, welded to the coil bracket on the left side so I could attach the switch housing. Then I mounted a cig. lighter assembly from the auto parts store in the housing and wired her up.

To keep the spade terminals on the back of the lighter from contacting the frame, I cut them down and soldered the 14ga. wires directly to the shortened terminals. The lighter is wired directly back to the battery with an in-line 15 amp fuse.









What do you guys think? Pretty cool huh......

LOL that is pretty cool..But smoking in a car is one thing..on a bike?

Do you have a cell phone charger there too? kidding.

I just can't picture myself smoking while riding. My smoking has decreased since getting my N, can't get off the thing for very long.

Don't smoke, but great idea if I did.

 

It would be good for charging your cell phone ona long trip... or Ipod or other accessories.

Cool, but is it waterproof? To hell with silly cell phones, if I still smoked I'd probably be finding a way to put that on my bike too.
