Default Disassembling bullet front turn signal?

I'm gonna be re-locating my front signals to the triple tree, and, of course, the instructions start with "remove gas tank". I'd prefer not to do that so... if I could detach the wires from the signals, re-route them, and re-attach 'em, that would be way better. Before I just dive in... anyone taken these things apart? TIA

The reason they ask you to remove the tank because the wiring harness goes under the tank, the sockets are right there, if you don't want to pull it out, I bet you can remove the front tank mounting bolt and lift it up a bit to get access. If you find a better way, please let us know.

Yeah, I get that. I'm just lazy and don't want to pull the tank off. Just wondering if anyone knows if the wires plug in to the socket in the housing, or are soldered, and whether it's possible to remove the socket without f-ing it all up. Personally, I'm more comfortable soldering than removing the tank, fuel lines, etc...

You can remove the wires from the socket the bulb screws into. Study the wiring a bit, and I think the manual will show you as well, but you can literally pop the wires out of the socket make your changes and reinstall. Just draw yourself a picture showing which wire came from which side. I relocated my bullet t/s housing to the bottom side of the driving lights using this method.
After you've done one, it really is pretty easy!
