Anyone have 16" apes on a sportster? If so what year what size risers and how long of clutch, brake, and throttle cables did you order or need? I am running into problems with ordering cables and they are saying they cant make them "that long" and i will have to get them custom made. I dont see why? I think apes are pretty popular on sportsters right? Gah any help?

 

If you've got the barsand the risers you plan to use just mock em up thenmeasure and order them. Barnett, Goodridge, Motion Pro etc. all make a ton of lengths. Most dealers or indy shops will order them for you (Barnett will make them to exact length you want) or you can just order through a vendor that deals through the Drag. Spec. catalog or Custom Chrome (thats what I did for my minis on 3" risers). I found the part numbers for the exact length I wanted in the Drag. cat. then ordered them from http://www.discountcycleparts.com/
Jp Cycles and Dennis Kirk also carry some really long ones. In most case +6" over stock will work fine.

 

yeah just use a piece of string to measure then take it to the stealer, they will be able to get them!!, your gonna LOVE those apes!!!

 

well i didnt want to say but i actually bought 20" apes hahah, i know thats weird, but im a taller guy.. and i want it to look like im sprawling out when driving. how much does it usually run to buy custom made cables? I mean i need the Clutch, brake and throttle cables dont i? im getting a shop to instal everyting im just buying everything i need.. thanks for all the help guys
