I once dumped my Suzuki real hard after hitting some gravel...it had engine guards. Saved the cases big time...I just cant seem to bring myself to spoil the look of my current scoot with them. I know they are a good idea...but look like azz IMHO.

I have a Lindby Multibar on my '07 1200C and I love it! VERY comfortable on long rides. With my large saddlebags and windshield, the bar looks good. Bike is a "bagster" - a baby bagger. On a "bare knuckles" looking Sporty I would say no, not a good look.

So what kind of soft lowers are they? Looking to keep my wife a little dryer this year going to bike week.
Sage Brush Engine guard chaps.

I wouldn't recommend them in slow, heavy traffic in hot weather. It tends to keep the jug heat radiated against the legs, which is GOOD in winter, but definitely not in summerwhen you're not moving much. I think they help in the rain. Key word here is HELP. You're still gonna get wet. They are definitely not a magic bullet, but they do help some. Itdefinitely helps withroad spray kicked upfrom the vehicle in front of the rider.$89.

The closeup pic is just after the only time I've dropped the bike. Guards scratched up slightly with no other damage. My bike is set up more for function than looks. I call it my utility bike. I bought the damn thing to ride, and that's what I do with it.

The Lindby Multibar is an excellent choice. We added after market Kuryakin style highway pegs to the wifes 04 Roadster with the Multibar and are pleased with the results.[sm=biker2.gif]

Mine came with the HD Guards when I bought it. I removed them once last fall to see how it looked. I didnt like the gaping look between the forks and the frame so I put them back on. Several days later I was in an accident in which the bike ended up on my head pushing my face into my chest. I broke my neck. I believe if I didnt have it on and the hard lined bags, it would have been a lot worse. I am fine now (quite a bit of Ti in my neck now though), and I attribute that mainly to the engine guards. I will now always have the guards on my bike.

Damn, that had to leave a mark - glad you made it through your ordeal in one piece!
