The trick is to get a high quality boot with a traction compound lugged sole and steel toe, and then make sure your shifter peg on the bike is rubber cushioned and not metal.

The rubber on the shifter peg is a softer material than the leather on your boot, so it shouldn't cause any major wear if you keep your boots in good condition.

I've been wearing the same pair of boots while out riding for around 3 years now (probably 50,000+ miles), and as you can see, there is very little wear on the 'toe'.

Well I agree with the thread poster that there are idiots out there with good credit that probably shouldn't be on bikes but you can't judge a book by it's cover. There has been plenty of times where I need to head down the strip at the beach and I'm rocking my short shorts But flip flops.......... I don't wear em but I don't judge those who do.

 

Well, you should have stopped at Starbucks and got to know him because he will probably want to sell that bike in 6 months for 1/2 price. And you know it only has 500 miles on it.

 

My sister wears filp flops and she ownes a pink skirt too.

 

I wouldn't wear flip flops but i'd wear athletic shoes and a tee shirt any time as long as the weather was good.

If I paid cash for everything I wouldn't own anything till I'm so old it wouldn't be fun anymore.

 

This is just like the problem I have at home should I borrow the money for a new charcoal grill and make sixty payments or continue to cook on my current model which was once a empty haz.mat container ?
