That's hilarious! Here's a story for 'em (why I wear protection - my old buddy got into riding, got a cheap Honda 350, went to company picnic in shorts/T-shirt/helmet, had a couple beers, bungeed a 6-pack to his pillion seat. Got on the freeway, felt the beer moving, turned around to adjust it. When he turned back, he found himself on the shoulder, overcorrected in the gravel, and went down. We caught up with him the next day at home - he looked like a mummy. AFAIK, he never rode again.
I've been down at 50MPH on a freeway entrance - jeans and a leather coat saved my skin; a full-face helmet saved my left ear and my teeth/jaw.

Hey hey hey now!! At the moment I have on a really nice pair of HD flip flops!! But then, I'm also wearing my "gayass fingerless gloves" while type this.

And I would never ride with the flip flops on.

 

I lived in Hawaii for 10 years. Many times while just cruising to the beach I'd just wear shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, and sunglasses. It was not uncommon to see many people riding that way.
But when going for a 'twisties' ride, I'd dress differently.


I am sure there are many people who look at you, me, and everyone else, and think.....What a moron! Heck, those very same guys may look at you, and think....."look at that,a wanna-be biker".

And probably up to 95% of the people on this forum bought their bike on credit. So what is the difference???
