What is Fast, Really?

What is Fast, Really?
Was having a brew with a friend and this started ~before we knew it there were 5 of us talking about it. If your into speed& I am to a certain degree.I just wonder about other people's perspective on what's fast on the road when your hammer down and holden on right ~ 0-60 0-100 light to light dodgen cagers etc... you get the idea ~ not what the specs sayor what Joe Bolagna says his super duper nitro bagger will do ~ I mean "Street" speed ~ just really would like to hear other folks thoughts on this ~Thanks in advance ,T

RE: What is Fast, Really?
To me fast is all about the perspective of speed.
You can go 100mph down a the highway and it could seem like you're only going 60mph. Boring.
Or you could go 60mph around a tight turn and it could seem like you are screaming around the the turn at 100mph.
Speed -- for me -- is all about perspective and being close to the "edge".

50 - 65 on surface streets in Phoenix is pretty fast. I always ride between the high end of 3rd and the low end of 5th, cruising at about 3 or 4000 rpms in 4th when conditions allow. I won't go much faster because of all the traffic that can randomly appear at any given second and barrel their dumb asses out in front of you from a side road.
As far as acceleration...as fast as possible to get away from the damn cagers.

When you say 'street speed', I think of in town driving .. and in town I am @ or below the speed limit. No risk taking for me in traffic - period.
There are great open spaces here ... and my bike seems to be comfortable at 60-75 mph on those. That does not seem fast to me.
I have very recently gotten close (wasn't looking at the gauge at the time) to 100 while passing three spaced slow cars, who would NOT pass each other. It was on a two lane road with no shoulders, in the one of two places to pass on this road ... now that seemed 'fast', reaallllyyyyy fast.

It is a matter of perspective...I will take off from lights quickley if a cager is sitting on my rear wheel, they usually get the hint at the next light. When going past big rigs (single or a line) I have blasted up to 90 and that is plennnnty fast for me, lol.
