Default newbie question about quietest slipons

Hi bought 2006 1200c a month ago. I have never heard a sportster like it. Has stock exhaust. Even my wife said I need louder pipes. My question is which slip-on mufflers are the quitest? My son has cycle shacks slip-ons on his 01 883. too loud for me. Is there something in between that?
Thanks, This is my first Harley

Probably the Screaming Eagle 50 state legal ones from Harley, that's the way I'm going next. I think they claim a 17% torque increase and no re-map needed if fuel injected.

The new style screamin eagle street performance should fit the bill perfectly, a little too quiet for me but definitely better sound than the stock mufflers.

It looks like the SE 50 state ones only fit 2007 and newer, Sorry.

I'm not so sure about that. There was no change in the crossover pipes or such between 2006 and 2007 so I'm betting the SE 50 state legal slip ons would fit a 2006 sportster. If they don't, I would wonder what prevents them from being installed. Anyone know why the SE 50 state legal slip ons wouldnt fit a 2006 sportster?

buddy of mine got em on his 06 thats just like mine

i got screamin eagles on mine but the baffels that come with em were too damnquiet so i took em out his bike is just a hair louder than stock
not poppy loud but throaty rumbly loud if that makes sense
best thing to do is buy a set try em if ya dont like em turn around and sell em on ebay
its all trial and error i think
best of luck to ya

IF the Screaming Eagle Street Performance slip-ons work for the carbed '06, then here's a vid of mine on my '07 Low. Volume of cams can be deceptive, but I think it picked up the tone pretty well. That's what they actually sound like. Sony Cybershot on the hood of my Jeep. And no, I didn't drop the camera at the end!

I have a set of the Screaming Eagle II baffle cut before they were street legal. They are nicely loud, but not deafing. I like them, but they are going to ebay because I am getting louder Short Shots.

Does anyone know if these have a "cat" inside? Just curious with the way the EPA is clamping down.
