ok, so ya gotta take this bag off every time you wash the bike? Or is there some way to cover it up when washing? It seems a bit hard to just take this bag on and off.
I'm interested, but a little concerned that I'm gonna be spending a half hour removing and re-attaching the bag every time I need to clean the bike.

I'll probably just leave it on when I wash it. It'sgood qualityleather. It's not like its going to melt or fall apart ifI get it wet. The fork bag pictured on my bike (made by the same company I believe), is off of another bike of mine andhasgone throughquite a fewun-covered washings and it still holds its shapejustfine.Just don't spray high pressure water directlyat it.
Give the bag a good coat of dressing every once in a while (something like the stuff langlitz sells) and most of the water will just bead and roll off. The back of the bag is made of some kind of heavy-duty synthetic, rubberized material so itshouldn't absorb water at all. If you must clean the bike behind the bag then yes, you will probably have to remove it. Otherwise, you can always cover it with a plastic garbage bag when washing if you're worried about getting it wet.
BTW, it is a PITA to put on, not so much to remove.

Next time I'm going to take it off and replace using zip-ties.
Love the bag!
