Default Handlebar Riser Bushings

Hi, has anyone replaced their Handlebar Riser Bushings and if so, is it an easy task? A guy at the HD shop said one wire will always break and have to be replaced, not sure what this wire is. I'm a novice mechanic, but I may be able to do this one if it doesn't require a lot of disassembly. Thanks for all the help.

It's a 1991 1200XLH.

I don't know what wire he is talking about. Take your time and be careful. It is an easy job.

It is the ground wire underneath the right bushing (as you are sitting on the bike). No biggie, strip it, crimp on a new end or solder it back on the the ring that it broke off of. No trouble.
