Default Leaving Helmet curiosity

Noob question, I haven't been riding in like 15 years and the last bike I owned was a rice rocket with a Helmet Lock on it............ If I'm going some place with my bike and just running in for a few minutes I'm confused --do I take my helmet in the store with me? Sounds silly but do you ever leave your helmet with your bike ?? ( I don't have any sissy bar or anything ) .......[sm=sorry.gif]

I always leave mine on my bike and no one has ever messed with it.

Now that I have jinxed myslef, I'm sure it will come up missing on the next run.

It depends whereI am. If I'm at a HD dealership or event I leave my helmet with the bike. Anywhere else I take it with me. It's a pain to carry around but I feel better knowing I have it when I leave.

I left a helmet sitting on my bike at the Circus Circus Casino for three days and it was still there when we were ready to leave. Went into a Subway in North Carolinato pick up an order. A buddy leaves his helmet and glasses on his bike. We were in there no more than 10 minutes and when we come out they're gone.

If I feel comfortable where I park my scoot, I will leavethe helmet hanging on a mirror with the strap wrapped around the mirror stem.

If I don't feel very comfortable where I park my scoot, I will lock the helmet to the one of the cables or mirrors with this.

If I don't feel comfortable at all where I park my scoot, my helmet goes where I go.

I used to leave my harley helmet next to my bike. I live in nh where there's no helmet law. I never thought anyone would want my helmet. Then I bought a shoei rf-1000 helmet that cost me about 350 beans. I don't feel comfortable leaving that helmet without it being locked up. I would hate to have to spend that cash again...cause I would if it were stolen as it's the best helmet I've ever had or tried on.

I agree, if you feel comfortable enough to leave it then leave it. However, I like the lock idea VBCH posted and now I am worried about my QR HD windsheild. Someone could take that off in seconds, I think I will look into locking them both now.

Same as most here, if I feel comfortable, I leave it with the scoot. If not, it goes with.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing all over this weekend. Lots of helmets left .. but also jackets left hanging on the bike. Some over the windshield, some on the sissy bar - just hanging there.
It was really nice thinking that the world has that kind of trust again. Right or wrong .. it was nice.
One scoot had the key hanging in the ignition [sm=insomnia.gif] - but that was at the Vietnam memorial wall - I don't think anyone would have dared touch anything bike related there.

Leave mine on the bike, if they need it bad enough to steal it, they can have. They will have to answer for themselves someday.
