Loved your tale Amzie, it really is great when you see something like that.

I've recently had Kuryakyn ISO grips fitted with helmet lock end caps so I can leave the helmet(s) with the bike. Theyre such a pain to carry around for any length of time. However, it would be a bigger pain if they were stolen as they are mandatory everywhere over here.

Depends on where I'm going. If its a big store or the mall or something I'll leave it, but if I'm going into a restaurant or somebody's place I'll take it in with me because ill have a place to set it down.

If I am out after dark, say at the local strip club, I take it in. If it is daylight and people are around I leave it on the mirror. Sometimes I strap it to the bars to make someone who wants to steal it work a little bit. Never lost one yet.

Don't hang it on the bars upside down by the strap at any bike weeks, it might just well become an trash can for those who walk by.

I just hang mine over the mirror most of the time also.
I do have these two stickers on the helmet though:

When I feel the need to lock mine up I use a pistol cable lock. Small enough to fit in the tool bag and real easy to use. Got mine for free from the local law enforcement.

If it is a place I feel comfortable at I will leave my helmet locked to my bike with a cable during daytime hours, otherwise I will take it with me.

Hi, I also use the gun lock which has a plastic coated cable that i wrap around the Q R Windshield and My H-Dhelmet to prevent walk offs. But if someone really had it in them to get them I'm sure they could. WVleo

I just sit mine on the seat. Unless it's raining, I hate putting on a wet helmet.
