Default Exhaust options? Getting rid of crossover?

I have Screaming Eagle II slip-ons, they are theolder style before they made them street legal. They sound good, but between the mufflers and crossover pipe, it is all pretty bulky. I want to go with a smaller, shorterpipe and get rid of the crossover.

-I want a deep sound, it doesn't have to be really loud, but at least as loud as the SE slip-ons. I do not want pipes that have a high pitched sound like some pipes make Sportsters sound like.

-I don't like the look of long skinny pipes

-I don't want to kill performance, but a slight drop in low to mid rpms is acceptable.

Good sound, but a are much louder that SEII slip-ons. I also had those on before installing the short shots.

Check out the Rinehart slip-on's. A bit pricey, but the sound is awesome. They DO NOT use the cross-over pipe.

georgiabiker, I stand to be corrected. They do use the cross-over pipe, but only for mounting. Sorry for the incorrect post.

Broke down and ordered Shortshots on ebay at lunch. This is my daily driver, but luckly I live in the country so the sound shouldn't be an issue. The Short Shots along with the struts should really open up my back tire.

You will like them. I put the "quiet baffles" in mine - takes the edge off and leaves a nice low bark
