Sure can, really easy to do, go buy some flat iron from lowes or home depot. cut it, drill holes in it and mount it. OR use the search up top and there are a **** load of threads on it

Are you eliminating the custom riser & spedo? I think an inch or so is your max to lift before hitting the spedo on an '04+ Custom. I will be interested to see some pics when done - would look quell

Take it from me, of the two sugessted above, go with the Biker supply, as i am certain there is not two inches room for the tank below the spedo on the custom. I made my own lift and it loooks a lot like the biker supply, and it is a bit tricky. I figured it lifted the tank 1 1/2 inches and for sure there is only 1/8" clearance between the tank and speedo. It is so close, it is scary. I think the 1 1/4' would be the ticket for a custom. The look is great. the bike looks a little different, but it opens up the tops of the heads and so forth. more room to mess with the stuff in there, and the chrome shows up. I have cromite cables, and chrome coil cover etc. it is all good. good luck.

JackofHearts, do you have pictures of your tank lift? Have the same bike, like to see the difference.

After reading this thread, I built some steel 1 1/4 inch lifts and picked up some hardware from Home Depot. Painted it tonight, so I can't mount it till tomorrow. I will post pictures tomorrow night unless someone beats me to it.

No close up though, painted mine, scuffed it, for twenty, I would gladly have bought one, Use thin steel if you make it, because it needs a bend and squeezies n for bestlook and ft.

Nice! Looks like I am going to have to get an ignition chrome cover too since it is so exposed with the tank lift.
