Hubby and I ride 2-up on our Sporty. Hell, that was all we had till March when we got the Ultra. We have a Sundowner seat on the Sporty and it is very comfy. We have ridden for hours and the only complaint I have is that I have to wear flat boots (no heels) or my legs fall asleep. Hubby is 6'2" and 200 lbs, I am 5'7" and about 150 lbs (yes, I just commited a sin in revealing my weight) and we are plenty comfy. The Sporty still has plenty of "umpf" with both of us on it too. See my sig pic for our Sporty.

I have the nightster and the girl and I put on 200 miles Saturday on a poker run. She did say here butt was a little sore on Sunday but she has a boney *** and the seat I have for her isn't exacty tour material. We normally do rides of 100 to 150 and she never has a problem.

We were also on some bad roads some of the time and did bottom out a couple of times

The only other thing is she likes to wear her black Lucchese boots with a real pointy toe and when I put my feet down her boots stick me in the calfs.

I can also change mine back for solo riding in 2 minutes.

I have the 1200 custom, and give rides to the wife & kid all the time. The stock seat needs to be replaced, and I suggest a back rest as well.

I have the XL1200C and ride 2-up pretty often. I weigh 170 lbs and my wife is 120 lbs. No problem at all with power and handling, but as others have said the stock seat has to go. I bought the Sundowner and we couldn't be happier with it. As for the backrest, make sure you get one that's tall enough. I got the medium height because it looked decent, but it cut right into an uncomfortable part of the wife's back, so I replaced it with the tall backrest. Looks like crap, but what the hey, comfort is more important. Final thought: you seem to be like me, riding solo most of the time. If you're going to do a lot of long distance 2-up riding, be advised that you'll be comfy but your passenger won't be for very long (whilch in turn means that you won't be comfortable for very long either, if you get my drift).
