RE: Cruise Assist / Control
what about the throttle lock? that'll work as a cruise control.. just don't lock it so tight you can't close the throttle.
if you are not familiar with it, it's the star shaped plastic black thing that's underneath the throttle, to the left. twisting it counter clockwise will tighten up the throttle and keep it open to where you set it.

I use the throttle lock when ever I need to keep up with buddies on long trips. Besides I only use it for a mile or so just to rest the wrist. I put it just tight enough to hold it in place but I can still twist the throttle, so it's not dangerous........... Unless your a real meat stick. So in other works SIM I guess I'm an Idiot.

hey sim-
ever read the manual? you can use it buddy, but harley states that it should not be so tight that the throttle won't close on it's own. it's a cruise assist. I don't remember what page it was on, but it was in the manual...... to be used for that purpose.
as long as you don't over tighten it to the point that it won't close on it's own it should be ok.... or am i missing something??
I don't use it for cruise control, but use it to warm up the bike.....as directed by my local indie and the local hd dealer.

The package states it's not for '04 - '07 XL. Plus, it looks like butt.
Try one of these:

There's another doo-dad that replacesyour throttle tension screw with a lever that actuates the tension in 1/4 turn (instead of screwing the dang thing in or out 5 times). Can't remember the name of it.
