Default Thinking of Vance and Hines Straightshots

Hi: I have a 1996 1200C sportster that I have been adding some upgrades to this winter. So far, I've added Harley Premium Leather Saddlebags and am currently adding forward controls.
Could anyone give me any feedback on Vance and Hines StraightShots? I was thinking about getting a set. My bike has also been jetted and has a Screaming Eagle Breather. I'm not worried too much about better performance. I just don't want to lose performance, but I do like the sound of the straightshots. Any suggestions appreciated.

Tom,
I have the Vance and Hines straight shots HS and I absolutely love them! They do sound good on our scoot. The volume might be a little loud for some people, but I look at it this way. At least they will hear me coming! If you do get a set of them and you think they are too loud, V+H have a set of quiet baffles for them. Ask HDWarrior about those baffles. I think he put a set of those in his pipes.

!!! RIDE SAFE !!!

Yeah, go with the Straight Shots! Leave the baffles in! Believe me, it'll be plenty loud enough with them in!

Vance an Hines all the way. They have tremendous sound and you can easily remove or replace baffles in a few mins. The workmanship an crome is excellant. And from 2003 an earlier you can pick up the full pipe system with 220 degree heat shield for 289.00 on ebay. For that price it wont pay to buy slip ons. Jim at Big City Thunder said the straitshoots are freer flowing than the newer straightshot HS for 2004 an later. Only wish i would of bought these the first time around.

Thanks everyone for your input. I got on the Vance and Hines web site and listened to the StraightShots sound clip. They do sound great. They will be my next purchase once I have completed forward control installation. Be safe: Tom.

I have Straightshot HS Slip-ons on my bike and I love them. I wanted to save a little cash so I didnt go with the full system. They sound great. I purchased the optional quiet baffle and I believe theymake the bike sound a little deeper than without them. They also help on the low end torque. Whether you go with the full system or the slip-ons, you can't go wrong with these babies. V&H did a great job on them.

That is a good price. I couldn't find any on eBay for that price. Do you remember who the seller is?
