Well I got them fixed. The dealer said that HD would cover the left side, so I had them replace it just in case the problem with the right side was in the left side control. What do ya know, they both work now.

Thanks again to Harleyscuba for the insight.

Glad they fixed it for you.

I did not like the extermal wire for the HD grips. I went with the Heat Demons (go inside the bar, so no exposed/moving wiring) I am absolutely happy with them. Even if it is just a little chilly, I can toast up the grips a bit - what a difference it makes.

Knowledge is power!

I'm gladyour dealershipgot you squared away. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, people at the dealerships don't know about service bulletins. Politely ask them to search "HD-Net" (Harley's online dealer support) with key words pertaining to your problem. If the dealership employee isn't careful, they might learn something, too.
Another support avenue is to ask them to call SPOC (Single Point Of Contact). It's an 800 #dealers can call with questions and to get updated info.
I wish every Harley owner knew about these systems for support. I know it's all about the money... andHarley-Davidson is a business. However, we pay dearly for our rides and should get the support we deserve.
Personally, I use heated gloves that plug into my Battery Tender pig-tail. No ugly thermostat sittin' out there while riding in the Summer.
