Default painting covers

im looking to paint my covers on my engine black. i did a search and really didnt find the answers i was looking for. im very mechanical with cars but harleys not so much yet. my question is, what covers can i take off with no issues? like gaskets, fluid pouring out, stuff like that. im definately a DIYer to the bone, i just want to know what im getting myself into. thanks in advance.

I know. Especially since I know a lot of guys on this forum have done it. Has anyone done a search to see if there was already talked about before?

No mess, you'll need to have new gaskets. A repair manual would be handy. The lower rocker arm cover is alot more involved and would be hard to describe in here. I would suggest reading the manual on that. It's not hard either with the manual.

EDITED IN: You should of mentioned in the subject line what you needed to do. I read it by chance.

Just loosen the bolts on all covers and the pull and prayjust hope they all go back on haha. I stuck with all the easy covers and besides I like the grey color. Next I would like to get all chrome covers but I'm not sure if the chrome and grey case would go together.
