RE: any advise for 34 deg temp and riding in the mourning?
I wear:
Under Armour or something like it under my jeans and sweatshirt
Good winter gloves
My gator (how did I ever get along without THIS gem?)
Leather Jacket
Leather Chaps
Full face helmet
Wool Socks
Thats about it...
I also put the Engine Guard covers on when its really cold or rainy. That helps a lot too.

If your serious, as in doing this sort of thing on a regular basis get yourself a full length textile jacket and pants.I like Tourmaster but First Gear is also good.Thick insulated gloves and boots if your feet get cold.Allot of guys go for electric gloves or grips but I've found that the above mentioned stuff will get you there well into the 20s.

Here in Montana, I ride whenever the roads are dry.
Here's what you need when it gets below freezing: full-face helmet and/or windshield; leather jacket w/ liner in; sweatshirt over your regular shirt; heavy gloves (ski gloves work as well or better than MC gloves--wear liners); boots, as opposed to shoes, to keep the air of your ankles. Pretty much it. Just a good jacket, and good gloves. My legs don't get cold.
If you want to ride below 25°: a Carhartt one-piece; snowmobile gloves; balaclava under your full-face; gaitors.
Oh, and a good bag to throw all your cold-weather crap in when you ride home from work and it's 65°. Springtime in Montana...

I'll go out on occassion and it will be a bit crisp when I hit the road in the AM so I will wear a set of thin thermals made to wick any sweat. Then just my regular t-shirt/jeans I wear everyday followed by My heavy leather jacket and a set of chaps. I have a good pair of insulated riding gloves that are priceless on those cold AM mornings. Won't wear a full face helmet, but have one of those neoprene half face things to cover My nose, cheeks and ears ! I don't like tobundle up to tight that I can't use a quick response if I need to. Plus as it warms up I can dump items into the small bags on My ride. WVleo

Rode 143 miles yesterday am...started at 05:30 at 34 degrees...thin long johns, heavy long socks, insulated boots, thermal shirt, long sleeve t-shirt, sweat shirt, leather jacket with liner and 3/4 helmet and heavy insulated gloves...worked well for the most part...toes and fingertips got cold; in the afternoon, just start peeling layers.
