BIG AZZ MARBLES....Have some at fingers reach and simpy drop them on the ground and let them bounce through the grill or window of those tailgaiters that won't take the hint when you politely use the back off hand signal....LOL.
Problem with that is most cars don't have much of a "grille" anymore. It would most likely end up hitting the windshield which will probably activate the road rage side of the tailgater. Or worse; the guy behind the tailgater who didn't deserve it.
Not saying tailgating is right or shouldn't be corrected but as stated above, a 500 lb motorcycle is no match for a 3000+lb car.
I'm pretty sure the only time 2 negatives make a positive is in those silly algebra equations that we could never figure out why we needed to know in Highschool.
I agree. The act of throwing or dropping objects islikely a felony in most states, and certainly one if someone is injured or killed. Even though you may not get caught and have to answer for itin court later, you are more likely to become an instant victim at the hands of the tailgater.

I try to steer clear of idiot drivers. I'll let them go on by,and then I startwatchingout for the next one to come by.

However, I've had one instance where I had to kick a car mirror.....Young punk merging into highway traffic, and almost pinning me against a car in the passing lane.Apparently, he didn't see mein the traffic, nor hear my horn or my then stock exhaust over hisbooming radio.... I couldn't let off/get on the throttle due to rush hour traffic. Kid must have thought I was an open spot in traffic for him to merge into. So before Ibecame roadkill, as a last ditch effort I kicked his mirror. Didn't want to but atleast I got him toswerve back over.

As for the guys calling BS and the "machismo comments".....Call BS, I don't care. Ride long enough and you may have to do it one day. Hopefully not though.... Be safe and watch out for that next idiot.

In response to kahaone, it's equally as dumb to pass a car on the shoulder when on a bike (I won't say 'cager' as to not **** you off any more - although I dont think it's wrong to call a car a 'cage' when you are on a bike...). That's how you die.

Not sure what rubs or 1%'rs have to do with the discussion? what do we want to do, turn this into a "what's a real biker" thread?

I just wanted to know how the rest of the folks on the forum deal with morons in traffic, as in all the time I've been riding I've never seen it this bad out there.

Thanks for all who offered real advise.

What has saved my butt more than once - loud pipes.
In one particular little town I travel thru, it never seems to fail, that before I can make it from one end to the other - I 'almost' get ran over at least twice. Usually around the Wal*Mart entrance/exit. [:@]
I pull in on the clutch, and twist the throttle 3-4X quick - and all the sudden - THEY SEE ME. Imagine that.
The last time it happened, she had already crossed over the inside lane and was well on her way to crossing mine, when she heard me. Of course I get the 'oh I am so sorry, I didn't see you shrug/head tilt/eyebrow lift.'

Cycle Shack - slash cut slip ons - not pictured.

I am trying more and more to brush it off since I carry and I really don't want to explain to the police why I drew the Glock on some idiot. I try and just shake my head and keep going, trying to keep as much distance from said idiot and myself.

I was really only kidding about the marbles....lol. You have to stay clear of those dangerous drivers. If they really did something to try to harm you take their license number and report them to the police or as I know of one fella that followed them untıll they stopped at at lıght....he walked up and as soon as the guy opened his window he was knocked out and his keys were taken out of the ignition and tossed as far as possible....Story I heard about my father doing this.....could get away with that stuff 50 years ago...lol.

I recently recieved some very good advice from a LEO that I think might be of some help. He works for the Sec. of State Police here in Illinois.

If you can, take a description of the vehicle, make, model, color. Get a description of the driver, male, female, color, and any distinguishing items of apperall noticed. And most importantly the LICENSE PLATE NUMBER.. And file a report with the POLICE department. They are required to follow-up about it if you file a complaint.

Here is my story:

Just this past week, I was picking my son up from school after I got off work. Thought it would be a nice change of pace to pick him up on the bike. He is 17yrs of age, and owns a cell phone. Personally I dont have a cell phone. Hate them with a passion. We were headed home so he could get change of clothing to get ready for work. On are way home, while taking a turn. This turn has two lanes that allows two lanes of traffic to turn left. We were on the outer lane, while this lady was in the inner lane. So during this turn we are pretty much side by side. All of a sudden, she starts to drift into are lane while we are making this turn. I have a car on my butt, and she is still coming. I laying on the horn, yelling, car in front of me, somehow praying this Biatch realizes that we are in this lane, and you are about to put us up in the curb. Told my son to hold on, this is going to get very scary. In the meantime she is still drifting into the lane, and the car behind me realizes that I am trying to slow down to get out of this biatch's way. I seen an opening, a driveway, yes, I ended up on the sidewalk, riding down the sidewalk. Thank God for No - Pedestrians walking on the sidewalk at that time. Yes, ROAD RAGE, has NOW SET IN. YES, I WAS PISSED......

I chased the stupid C%nt down. Followed her like a beagle on a rabbit. The son is now on the phone with the city police while we are following this person. Giving plenty of room for this person to carry on with her wreckless driving, and most of all staying out of her way making sure she doesnt get a second shot at running us off the road. I am not trying to stop this person. Hoping I can get the attention of a LEO, or hopefully one is on his way from the phone call my son is on with the police department. This Biatch realizes that we are following her, and starts to take evasive action. Hitting side streets, doing turn arounds in parking lots, and so on.

Finally, got the attention of a patrol officer. She gets pulled over. I explain to the officer what has conspired, making sure he gets a good earfull from me. He talks to my son, and yes, he explains the same story. Talks to the idoit driving the cager. The cager has the ***** to tell the officer I was harrassing her by following her which scared her, and made her fearfull. Luckly for me, the car that was behind me earlier during the turn. Followed us. He also explained to the officer what had transpired. The wreckless driving on her part, and so on.

The biatch was cited for wreckless driving, improper lane usage, and two others other.

As we were leaving, I could not help myself, pulled up, and said while the officer was standing there.

HEY LADY, START SEEING MOTORCYCLES, we have the same rights as you do!!!!
She flipped me the bird. Guess I will be number #1 in her life for some time.

Maybe if we are all lucky, she will start realizing she doesnt own the road...
