Did the 160 mounted on the 18" rim cause any problems with the speedo?

Yes, probably about 1/4" max at the axle. I really didn't notice the change though.

No. It's the same dimensionsas the stock setup so the speedowas not affected. The actual size is 160x60 18. That equals the setup that Harley uses with the 150 but a lot of side wall.

Sorry Warrior but that's not correct. As posted earlier, the tire is slightly taller as well as wider and produces a 5% speedo error when matched against the GPS. 57mph indicated vs. 60mph actual. That's not a problem for me since I'm running the TC88A ignition module which allows me to recalibrate the speedo.

6066er, I'll post a pic in a day or so.

Charley, I stand corrected. However, I have done the same exact test with my GPS and there wasonly a 1-2 MPH difference between my Garmin GPS and the bike. I just thought the bike's speedo as many of them are not perfectly accurate out of the factory. For that matter, my BMW 335i has a 4-5MPH difference and thats supposed to be a luxury premium car and it came from the factory like that! Dealer told me that was normal...lol. Back to Harley's....

If you take the full dimensions (Tread and side wall)of the OEMstock 150/80B16 and compare them against the 160/6018 it is just about the same exact dimensions according to the folks at Hogpro. The told me the bike would sit 1/8th of an inch higher. It's so minimal thatI can't even tell. Basically, what your loosing in the stock sidewall, your gaining with the 18 inch wheel. What you actually have is less rubber and more wheel.

In anycase, going to a 160 tire was the best mod I have made yet. I shouldalsomention that I am running a Metz90/90 front, which is slightly wider and matches up perfectly with the wider rear. The bike handles lightyears better than the stock setup. Hope this clears up my previous posting....

Warrior, the confusion comes in that you are referencing a Metz 160/60-18 tire. The recommended Metzler 160 replacement on the stock factory 16" wheel is 160/80-16. Using a generic tire size calculator, a 160/80-18 is 2.03% smaller in circumference than a 160/80-16. The actual difference may vary slightly when switching from 1 brand to another. The Metz 880 also has a 10/32 tread depth which I suspect adds a tad to the circumference.
