Default Opinions wanted!

Just looking for some opinions here, I have a horrible time picturing things in my head. I ride an 04 1200C Sporty. My engines stock chrome as well as my aftermarket pipes I have on it. My question is this.......What do you guy think it would look like if i repainted the tank and fenders flat black, got some black powder coated pipes and black ape hangers? You think all the chrome and black would clash or you think it would look half decent? I like the ride of the newer bike but I really like the look of the more old school "rat bike" type. I dont need all sorts a "bling" on my bike, but then this is just my tastes. Id like to hear what people think!

Thanks in advance

Do it...

Check out the bobber forum on xlforums.net and you'll see plenty of bikes like you are describing.

Chrome and glossy black paint is beautiful. Not too sure about a lot of chrome w/ flat black.

+1 I love gloss black and chrome!! I want to chrome out my whole engine and pipes but leave everything else black. Maybe when I get a new bike and I got time

I think it would look fine like you described. But then again that is up to you to decide since you have to ride it everyday.

I've always wanted to paint my engine black with the current chrome set up I have. I think it would look awesome. Just too expensive for my budget.

I like black and chrome. I have to say I don't like denim (flat) black. With gloss you can rub out minor scratches and blemishes. What do you do with flat, repaint?

I have a vivid black 1200C and am thinking of black pipes as well. I'm sure it would look good and that blackapes would work fine as well.

I really think that the 1200C doesn't mod as well as the 883 with the peanut tank. I think it might have to do with the stretch tank, but I don't think apes look right on the 2004-up 1200C. IMO, I think this bike is meant to be more of a low and long type (like the Duece), rather than a bobber. Again, just my opinion.
