Default RE: After-market Carbs.

R&R cycles does the machining for the gen4 PSI carb.

http://cart.rrcycles.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=341

I have not done my rebuild yet. The PSI carb is more expensive than just about anything else out there.

"With the help of R&R Cycles, PSI developed every, unique shape and a ribbed interior that truly intensifies flow characteristics, along with VORTEX Generators that take total control of the air and align it for maximum port velocity."

No b.s. in what they say, the guy at R&Rwho did the work for PSI is a MIT airflow guru.

Default RE: After-market Carbs.

I have a 94' also and am running a mikuni. I can't deny the fact that it was a pain in the *** to get everything tuned properly, but once tuned it's totally worth it. But I've also done some modification to my old CV, and also ridden a number of bikes that had the works done on their CV carbs, and I still found the mikuni to out-perform all modified CV's. One thing of anycarb though, is that it's not going to give you more HP, the main thing about the mikuni is superior throttle response. You can improve the throttle response of CV carbs by drilling the slide, but it's still no comparison to a mikuni. A big part of the mikuni's performance comes from it's fully adjustable accelerator pump. The keihin accelerator pump can only have it's nozzle changed, but you can't adjust the spray duration, the mikuni is fully adjustable to suit your needs. So anyways.......in conclusion, the main feature of the mikuni is throttle response, overall power will be the same, with a minor exception for power gains in drag racing applications where the immediate throttle response adds to the HP during quick acceleration.
