Default buying a 1200n

I need a little help. I have never bought a new motorcycle or from a HD dealer. How much room do they have to move. I cant get them to move off sticker at all. With the way the economy is I would think they would want to deal. Thanks PERK

They got what you want Bring the KY!!! I paid sticker when they were hard to get aprox. a year ago. I would think they got plenty of em now and would be willing to go down but then again like any dealer there not in it to make people happy. Hopefully a few new nightster owners read this and they could tell you what they paid.

I got mine used for a pretty good deal, privately. I don't know if you are set on getting a new one but I got mine with 970mi on it and the 1k dealer service and after I paid my state sales tax I was right on $9000. To me, it's more rare when a deal WILL go below MSRP, especially this time of year. Wait a few months till 2009's start showing up and you might have a better chance.

The start of riding season is the worst for buyers, IMHO. All the leverage is with the dealers. That's why I started my shopping back in Jan/Feb.

Yep. Spring is not a good time to go looking for deals.

Bought my '08 Vivid Black Nightster about 3 weeks ago. Talked them down about $1200 off their asking price. Basically got the bike and add-ons (V&H straight shot SO, SE Heavy Breather air intake, forward controls, race tuner) for MSRP.

All the dealers in the Seattle, WA area had lots of Nightsters either on the showroom floor or in their warehouse.

Check with them on store credit, credits for services, and other stuff if you can't get them down much on price.

I got my stealer down a bit on price, moving an '07 model out last August to make room for the '08s, and I got them to throw in the 1000, 5000 and 10000 mile services for free.

Play some dealerships against each other too, even if they are far away.

I got mine for list with no set up charge plus $300 in store credit. Every dealer has them. Take your time and shop around. Or do like me and flat out tell them your not paying frieght and set up. It will save you alot of time. Good Luck!

I got mine for MSRP, plus a $650 dollar gift card that I could use for parts clothes, or service.

Springtime. Expect to pay MSRP. If you want a deal, go for a used one.
