Am I nuts?

The (jerky) parts guy at a dealer that I stopped by this afternoon insists that the standard 04+ 883 NEVER had a plain cast (sometimes called blonde) cam cover or primary cover. I swear I've seen pics of these...

According to the parts manual he searched there are chrome, polished, and nightser covers.

Anyone got blonde covers?

 

I swear I've seen standards with those covers on them.

Now I can tell the voices in my head that THEY are the crazy ones...

 

The 883 Customs come with those "blonde" covers. Mine have been switched to chrome. If you're looking to get a set, let me know. My original covers are sitting in the shed.

Either way... I want a set and the parts guy told me that they don't exist and that he was sure that I've never seen them.
As it is, I'm working on a deal with 'Scuba to get his old set.

I plan to cut them down a little, paint them black and put them on my 1200 with the black engine case.
